Catching up with Katelyn

Where, oh where to begin about our little girl...! The baby days are gone and the toddler days are definitely upon us.


What's our toddler up to?:
*crawling up the stairs any time we forget to block them off with the baby gate.
*walking, walking, walking. She started taking steps the day after she turned 1, but it's taken her time to feel comfortable doing it. Last week, she really began cruising from room to room.
*talking, talking, talking. Words she says: dad, mama, Allie, Katie, hi, hello, bye, uh oh, uh uh, no, poop, all done, I love you, book, ball, block, baby, that, roar.
*loves meal/snack time and will eat anything.
*3 teeth and the 4th broke through a few days ago.
*always chooses to play with the toy kitchen, doctor's kit, dolls, vanity and books over "baby" (age appropriate) toys. Pretends she's feeding her baby at the play high chair, pretends to brush her hair in front of the vanity mirror, "reads" books aloud to herself, and much, much more.
*plays pretty well with Allie and puts up with a lot from her big sister. Lately, though, she's been dishing out some less than stellar behavior too. Taking toys away from Allie, hitting, etc.
*the shrieking has pretty much come to an end (She still does it when she's fighting with Allie, but at least it's no longer occurring every waking minute of the day.)
*she's a pretty happy-go-lucky baby, but when she's mad, she's mad, and she can throw a pretty good tantrum (throws herself to the ground, screaming, kicking and flailing.)
*she loves to dance and sing.

We love our little girl. She's such a delight and brings so much joy to our lives!
