Our family LOVES apple picking - so much so that we went 3 times this month. We found a new orchard that we adore...lots of activities for the kids and cheap, quality apples! Allie took a school field trip (I went along as a chaperone) to the orchard today and had a blast. (Of course, I forgot the camera. Her teacher took a few pics, though, so maybe I can track some down.) Her favorite thing about today's trip was riding the school bus for the first time!
Here are a few pictures from Trip #2/The Family Apple-Picking Trip:

Funny story about the chickens...
She's happy right now, but take a look at the positioning of her hands and foot....
She's naively standing here...little does she know the chickens are on their way over to peck at her hands and foot. Didn't scare her. Not one bit. She started yelling at them and they moved on!

Despite the fact that we are all eating at least one apple per day, our fruit crisper is PACKED full. Allie's requested we make applesauce this weekend. It'll be my first attempt at it, so we'll see how it turns out!
