All About Allie Update

Allie's 3 1/2 going on 30. She's in a rush to grow up and is constantly talking about when she "turns 4, then 5, then 6..." I always respond that I think she "should stay 3 forever." And in typical Allie fashion, she says, "Mom. I can't stay 'free' forever." A mom can wish though, right?!

She loves school, adores her teachers and has made so many new friends. Her brain is such a little sponge and it's amazing to listen to the new things she learns each day. Counting to 100, basic addition and subtraction, counting in Spanish, the days of the week, the months of the year, seasons, basic sign language, and little tidbits from the units they've been studying recently in school - dinosaurs (names of them, plant eaters/meat eaters, etc.), healthy foods and exercise, astronomy...

As far as extra-curriculars, Allie's keeping busy. Although, for everyone's sanity and because we feel it's so important for kids to have plenty of time to play and just be kids, we try to keep classes/sports limited to 1 per season. She just finished up soccer this week and is getting ready to start gymnastics again for the spring and summer.

For Allie, playtime at home usually involves one of the following: coloring/drawing/crafting, puzzles, play dough, Bendaroos, games, books, blocks, dress up clothes, the doctor's kit or pretend food. She's looking forward to warmer days when she can spend more time outside riding her bike, playing with the sidewalk chalk, swimming in the pool, going for walks and playing at the park.

And finally, three quick words to describe our little three and a half year old: fun-loving, creative and compassionate.

We love you sweet pea (and we really do wish you'd stay this age FOREVER!)
