Katelyn update!

Katie turned 18 months on the 12th. She had her well-child check-up that day and things look good. She's currently 30.5 inches tall (15%) and 21lbs. 7 oz (10%). The doctor checked her tubes and those look good, too.

It's amazing to watch our little girl growing up before our eyes. It's hard to believe that about this time a few years ago, Allie was moving into a big girl bed and getting ready to have her baby sister come home from the hospital. Although I'm sure Katie would be able to handle a big girl bed right about now, we want to keep her our "baby" for as long as possible! :) As you can see, though, she's changed quite a bit from 18 months ago!

To give you a glimpse into our precious "baby" girl, here are a few tidbits about Katelyn:

  • Loves to sing. Often times when she wakes up or is going to sleep, she'll sing "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" in her crib.
  • Loves books, coloring, playing with the kitchen and the play food and pretending with her babies and teddy bears.
  • Gave up the pacifier 1 1/2 - 2 months ago.
  • Has developed quite the vocabulary after giving up her paci. While there is no way I can even attempt to write down all the words she knows, here are a few: Mom, Dad, Allie, baby, bear, block, book, bite, snack, drink, milk, no, mine, time out, I done, all done, bath, hot, hair, nose, eye, foot, sock, shoe, Dora, hi, bye, night, brr, what's that, what's this, rock, poop, yuck, stinky, woah, uh-oh, uh-uh, more, peek-a-boo, I love you. That's about all I can think of for now, but I know there are many more that I'm forgetting. She pretty much repeats anything we say to her now!
  • Has a very easy-going disposition, but when she's mad, she'll let you know it. She's started throwing tantrums (usually only when she wants a "nack" or if you give her water when she wants milk.
  • She has started hitting her big sister...usually when Allie takes a toy away from her. So, we've started time-outs with her now. :(
  • She has 5 teeth and her 6th just cut through this week.
  • She loves bath time and loves to play peek-a-boo.
  • She eats just about anything except fresh spinach. Sometimes she'll eat it when it's cooked though.
  • She gives us kisses and hugs anytime we ask.
  • She still asks us to "rock" her before bed each night.
We love you, Katelyn! You're becoming such a big girl!
