Christmas Day

The girls slept in! Allie didn't wake up until 5:15am. She played in the playroom for 30 minutes, but by 5:45am, we woke Katie up. We couldn't hold Allie off any longer. Considering some mornings they are awake at 4am, we were very excited for the extra sleep!

We don't have a whole lot of pictures from the big day. Managing gift-opening with 2 kids is a major feat in and of itself. We tried to live in the moment rather than capturing it on film this year.

Allie's present from Santa - a dollhouse. Katie loves it, too. Katelyn's gift from Santa - a pop-up play set. Allie loves it, too. Santa knows how to pick his presents. They've provided hours of entertainment already.

(Allie was very excited about her present to Katelyn - a Carebear and the book "What Sisters Do Best." Katie loved them and is especially attached to her "baybay.")

We had a low-key day, which was perfect! A nice brunch, movies, playtime with new toys and games, a yummy dinner and then a drive around town looking at Christmas nights. After the girls were tucked in bed, Alex and I snuggled up on the couch and watched one of our favorite Christmas movies - "Love Actually." The perfect ending to a wonderful day.
