31 weeks

Baby Girl Mathies is growing well. She remains an active one, that's for sure. She especially loves to party during the late night hours. I think, of the 3 girls, her Daddy's height may work to her advantage. This baby stretches from one end of my belly to the other and loves to punch and kick simultaneously! Here's some stats from babycenter.com detailing how she's growing this week:
This week, your baby measures over 16 inches long. She weighs about 3.3 pounds (try carrying four navel oranges) and is heading into a growth spurt. She can turn her head from side to side, and her arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath her skin. She's probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby's kicks and somersaults keep you up. Take comfort: All this moving is a sign that your baby is active and healthy.

While we were taking belly pics this weekend, I decided it would be fun to have everyone tryout what it's like to carry a baby around in their belly.

Katelyn played along for about 5 mins. but after this pic, she smooshed the baby when she flopped down on the floor on her belly to take a few pictures in front of the Christmas tree.

Allie lasted the longest. After about 20 mins though, she said "get this thing off me; it's too hard to color with it."

And Alex lasted all of 2 mins. He refused to pose for belly shots in front of the tree, but at least he played along. :)

Somehow, I don't think the little experiment gave the kids a greater appreciation for Mommy. Oh well, we got some cute pictures!
