Allie's Daily Mantra

For some reason, unbeknown to us, Allie begins her day with a little mantra. As she eats breakfast she says: "Today I'm going to do 3 special things. I'm going to be very nice, I'm going to stay in the lines (while coloring), and I'm going to chew very well."

How she determined these were the most important things to focus on, I do not know. Granted, we are constantly saying, "Allie, you need to be nice." So, that one is understandable. She hears it morning, noon and night and practically every minute in between. As for coloring in the lines, this one saddens me a little. I can't help but think she already feels the need to conform to social norms. If we can't even color outside the lines when we're kids, then when can we?! And finally, the "chew very nicely" phrase stems from our nightly dinner conversations where we've started working on chewing quietly and with our mouths closed. :)

So, way to go Allie. Your little mantra tells us some very important things about you. 1. You know how to set goals. 2. You know how to organize and prioritize. 3. You DO have a conscience!

We love you little girl!
