Allie turned 18 months today. It's crazy how grown up she is becoming and hard to believe she will be 2 years old soon!
A few things about her:
- She's creative. She loves to think up new purposes for her toys and everyday things lying around the house. (For ex: A little wicker basket is currently serving as a bed for her baby).
- She loves to put things in one container and then pour them into another container. (water, cheerios, blocks, and just about anything else she can think of). This makes clean-up painstakingly slow for Mommy and Daddy as Allie enjoys placing each block into her little stacking cup before pouring them, 1 by 1, into the little bag where they belong. Imagine how long this process takes when there are at least 30 blocks!
- She has an amazing attention span. She'll play with playdough for an hour, works on her little wooden puzzles for 20 mins. at a time, and can look at books all day long!
- She's becoming a tv junkie (much to my horror, since we didn't let her watch it for her first 15 months!) . She especially enjoys Sesame Street, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (or something like that) and the movie "Finding Nemo" (minus the opening shark scene).
- She still loves to eat and there's rarely a meal that she does not devour. We've been very lucky that she is so willing to try new things!
- She has started helping Mommy and Daddy in the kitchen and especially enjoys baking. She loves to pour the ingredients in the bowls and to mix things by hand (the electric mixer and food chopper freak her out!).
- She learns new words every day. Yesterday she said bubbles. Today she told us she had an itch and proceeded to scratch her neck. She also said bird after seeing some outside (she's been standing at the backdoor calling out for more "bir" ever since).
