It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

We've been reluctant to put up the Christmas tree, fearing the destruction our 17-month old may cause. However, this weekend we went on a sleigh ride with Santa through the Shalom Wildlife Preserve and the activity put us in the Christmas spirit. We came home, and after some much needed hot chocolate, pulled out ALL the Christmas boxes and got to work. We put up the decorations in record time, probably because I wasn't obsessing about making the tree look perfect. Why bother, Allie will re-decorate it in no time...and she has!

Before we left for the sleigh ride, we played a game of "How many layers of clothing can we pack onto our little one". I lost count after 6, but Allie seemed to keep warm during the hour-long voyage. Here she is on the trip checking out some of the animals.

Santa made several stops along the way, collecting toys for all the good little boys and girls.
