A Busy Week for Allie

Allie met lots of family this past week. Aunt Beth, Uncle Dave and Uncle Charlie all came for a visit. While they were here, we went to Navy Pier, out to lunch and shopping. It was a very busy couple of days, but Allie did great. Grandma came for a visit as well, and will be here all week. She has been a huge help; taking overnight shifts so Mommy and Daddy can sleep, holding Allie so Mom can get things done and of course spoiling her with clothes, toys and lots of love.

Other news:

  • Allie had her first bath this week. She seemed to enjoy it at first, but became very fussy toward the end.
  • She is sleeping much better now. She tends to cry between 10pm - 2am, but then sleeps soundly (only getting up to feed) from 2am - 8 or 9am. Hopefully in a few weeks she'll be sleeping through the night!
  • She had a follow up doctor's appointment yesterday. Over the last week, Allie has regained her birth weight (which was our goal). She is now 6 lbs. 14 oz. In the last few days, we have noticed her filling out her newborn outfits a little more and her pointy little chin is even becoming a double chin! The doctor said her jaundice is gone and she received a clean bill of health :)
One final development:
Last week, Alex accepted a position with a chemical laboratory in the Milwaukee area. He is finishing up work at Northwestern and his last day there will be Sept. 7th and we are hoping to move into our new home shortly thereafter. We love Wisconsin and are very excited about moving there. We are just beginning the house search - hopefully it goes well!

We hope you are all doing well! Lots of love - Alex, Janelle & Allie
