Boy is she growing up.
A few tidbits about Katie:
- She is very excited to start preschool in the fall.
- She's taking gymnastics and LOVES it. She's also taking swimming lessons this summer.
- She is very much a girly girl. She frequently tells us she doesn't want to wear something because "it's not pretty enough" and she finds it very important that her clothes and shoes match.
- When Alex is tucking her into bed at night, they sing the song Down by the Bay and he lets each of the girls make up a verse of the song. Katelyn's most frequent ones are "Have you ever seen Allie eating a pokey dot?" or "Have you ever seen Allie eating a shopping cart with Grandma and Grandpa, Aunt Beth, Uncle Dave, Papa T., Susan, Uncle Charlie, and Mommy and Daddy?" Then she giggles hysterically over her line.
- Our favorite Katie-words: Sure - pronounced "Suh" and Okay - pronounced "Otay".
- She has a very specific way that she likes to be covered up at night (with her arms tucked under her pillow and the blanket pulled up and covering every bit of her arm; lately she even wants her entire head under the blanket). If things aren't just so, she persistently calls us in to rearrange things to her liking.
- She loves to play pretend with her dolls, dollhouse and my little ponies.
- She's very good at cutting with scissors and is starting to color all over the piece of paper rather than in just a small section.
- She still loves to "cook" for us using her play food. The other day she was making coffee for Alex and I. She brought us each our cups and after we took a sip Alex said his was too hot and I said mine was too cold. She showed off her reasoning skills by taking Alex's cup and pouring some of his coffee into my cup. I was very impressed my two-year-old came up with that solution all by herself.
