Exciting News!

Another little Mathies' baby is on the way! I'm in my 19th week and feeling great. We first heard the heart beat on July 25th and the girls were told later that same day. They are both beyond excited. That night, Allie cuddled up beside me and looked at the baby books to see how big the baby was and learn about it's development. We weren't sure if Katelyn grasped the concept at first, but then when I had some time alone with her, we chatted and she talked about the baby in Mommy's tummy. Over the last few months, they've been predicting the sex and brainstorming names. They love to give the baby kisses, ask how big the baby is and hold up their hands with an estimate on length. It's all very cute!!!

Gender predictions:
Allie - boy
Katelyn - girl

Name suggestions:
Allie - Kewaskum, Scragga and Pinchy
Katelyn - Belle (from the movie Beauty and the Beast)

And, last but not least, yesterday we had our mid-pregnancy ultrasound. Looks like Katelyn's prediction was right on. IT'S A GIRL!!!! (Alex took the doctor's suggestion and is thinking about a man-cave.) She's developing well and seems to be very active! I began feeling movements at week 16 and could even see movements by week 17th. Yesterday, there were numerous kicks, turns and flips during the ultrasound and she spent a lot of time with both hands thrown over her forehead. When they weren't there, she was sucking her thumb. It appears we've got a sassy one preparing to make her appearance in a few months!

Her expected arrival date: Feb. 4, 2012. (One day early and she'll share a birthday with her Uncle Charlie!)

We are overjoyed by the news and feel very blessed to be adding another little girl to our family!
