Katelyn is 1/2 a year! She celebrated with a well-child check-up where she received 5 shots! She is (was - it's been almost a month already) 14lbs. 12.7 oz. (20th%) and 25 inches (15th%). Here are some updates on our precious, growing girl and mixed in with them are Katelyn's 6 month photos.
- She's started solids. So far, she's had banana, avocado, applesauce, chicken and sweet potatoes. We skipped the rice cereal (and also did for Allie) for a few reasons. First, she didn't start getting solids until 6 months and can tolerate more texture and flavor. Second, she currently gets all her nutritional needs (minus iron) from milk. (The introduction of solid foods is mainly for developmental purposes at this point). And finally, cereal is loaded with carbohydrates and not a lot of flavor. We prefer giving her the real stuff and so far she loves it!

- Katelyn is proficient at rolling over and sitting up.

- She loves to play in her exersaucer (stationary walker). She throws her body from side to side, giggling and laughing. She also loves to sit at her little sing a long stage toy that plays music and has a mirror for her to watch herself. She rocks from side to side to the beat of the music! It's adorable to watch! (Maybe she'll have more rhythm than her mother!)

- Her hair is growing very quickly. It's probably about 1 1/2 inches in length. It's longer and a little fuller than her daddy's!

- She giggles, jabbers, and talks with great authority. She has to if she's going to be heard over her big sister!
Once again, JCPenneys is sending some of her pictures into their corporate headquarters (this time they asked permission when we picked them up, not while we were ordering!). I guess we have a cute kid. Of course, we knew that already though! :)
