Our weekend get-away

As you can imagine, life has been hectic these last few months. Our 2 1/2 year-old and 5 month old sure keep us busy (both day and night!). So, this past weekend, Alex and I took a mini-vacation to Galena, IL. It was so wonderful to get away for a little bit and spend time with one another without two little ones in tow. We stayed at a lovely bed and breakfast, did a little shopping, had a couple of nice dinners, watched a few movies and had some QUALITY sleep! We planned the trip so we'd be there during the annual luminary weekend. With over 5000 candles placed throughout the quaint town, it was incredibly beautiful!

My sister and brother-in-law came and stayed with the girls. They all did amazing! Allie and Katelyn had a blast, and I'm in awe of the incredible job Beth and Dave did with the kiddos. They cooked, baked, cleaned, did laundry, took the girls shopping, played in the snow and made various craft projects...I think we need to go away more often!
