Sitting Up!

Allie and Mommy went to playgroup on Monday and saw some big kids (8 months) sitting up. Allie didn't want the other kids to think she was a baby, so she practiced sitting while she played with them.

Here is a photo of her sitting Monday night.

Here is one taken Thursday. What a difference a few days make! She is now able to sit upright for 5 minutes (some times) without falling backward or off to one side. And even when she does flop, she is often able to use her stomach muscles to pull herself up.


Allie used to be mesmerized by her reflection in the mirror. Now she cracks up looking at it. I don't think she recognizes herself, but instead thinks she is playing with a friend.

She even likes to give her friend kisses which makes for some interesting maneuvering with the mirror!
